Nigerian AfroGospel duo 6th Chord is back, delivering a vibrant new single titled “JEKALO (Let’s Go).” The track fuses an irresistible party groove with a profound message of faith, freedom, and responsibility.
Comprised of Felix Aladetan and Olusegun Agbudeloye, 6th Chord operates on a simple yet powerful mission: Making sense with sounds.
The duo’s journey began in 2004 under the original name “Champs,” featuring four members: Felix Aladetan, Olusegun Agbudeloye, Seun Amuni, and Folarin Odidiomo. Together, they toured campuses across Nigeria, earning recognition for their harmonies and energetic stage presence. After Folarin departed to pursue full-time ministry and Seun joined the Nigerian Navy, Felix and Olusegun kept the vision alive, rebranding as 6th Chord.
Their breakthrough came in 2010 when they secured a semi-final ticket to Nigerian Idol at the UNIBEN Etisalat show in Benin, solidifying their reputation as powerful vocal performers. Since then, the duo has consistently written, produced, and performed their own tracks, building a catalog rooted in originality and spiritual depth.
“JEKALO” is their latest offering—a celebratory AfroGospel record that encourages believers to dance freely while remaining mindful of their witness. With lyrics like “Cause we are free no mean say we go abuse it / And because we have power to mean say we go pollute the world,” the song balances joy with a timely call to holiness.
“This is a Christian party anthem, but it carries a deep message,” says the group. “We are free in Christ, but that freedom isn’t an excuse. We want people to dance, celebrate God’s faithfulness, and remember who they are—saints with an assignment.”
